MAT 285 Project

Project is due December 13th

For the project you will have to:

1. Collect and organize 2 samples of 25 items of data from a source you find relevant.
   1. Some examples:
      1. Sports (top HR hitters, rushing leaders, point scorers, etc.)
      2. Weather (average daily temperature for a month, max hurricane wind speed, etc.)

• Business (top grossing movies, highest paid athlete’s, record sales, etc.)

1. Demographics (age, height, weight, etc.)

2. Find the mean, median, mode and range for each group.
3. Find the variance and standard deviation for each group.
4. Identify the 5 number summary for each set and determine if any outliers exist.
5. Find the 95% confidence interval for the mean of each group.
6. Test the hypothesis that the means are different (.05 significance)

You must provide me with the 50 data values you obtain in a neat, organized manner in a spreadsheet and be sure to provide the source of your data.
