Personal statement / motivation letter

I don’t have strict rules for this essay. You can consider it as a personal statement or motivation letter. Anyway, my goal is to let them know that I am motivated to study.

I am 21 y.o., Russian is my native language. I won several academic competitions in math in the past. I was into fine arts (painting) and piano for half of my life. I am currently learning Korean and able to speak Greek on a basic level.

Some facts to include:

• After graduating from school in 2017, I went to the top-2 Russian university, where I am currently finishing my degree in International Business and Management (taught in eng). However, I have always wanted to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree and was searching for a program that would suit my needs best. I am sure that The University of Newcastle is what I was searching for, and I find the Bachelor of Arts program amazing because I can choose between different majors and minors.
• The University of Newcastle is my one and only aim. I am highly motivated to get into this exact university and program. I know exactly what I want to study and why. I am interested in these fields since HS and finally have a chance to make my dream real.
  Note: I am applying to the “Film, Media and Cultural Studies Major” (a single major and double minor program).
  Films, from every perspective, are my passion. I really want to study this major. Speaking of media, I had an SMM job before, and I find these studies very relevant to my life.
  As for music, I have gone through music school (piano and guitar) and spent my teenagerhood at various music concerts. I am still very interested in this.

  What is more, I am applying to “English and Writing Minor” and I want to learn this minor in all conscience. I have been writing since middle school, have had many publications at school, and I am still into this, practicingevery day. I aim to learn more about writing and especially creativewriting in English.
  Also, I am applying to “French Studies”. I am interested in this minor because I have had French specialization at junior and middle school, and I want to go back to learning this language.

• This is the best online degree I have seen so far.
• I have English C1 level (approved by IELTS) and an Academic English certificate.
• I have a «What Does It Mean to Be Human? An Introduction to the Humanities» Certificate from The University of Newcastle by FutureLearn. This course is a part of a program that builds towards a Bachelor of Arts degree, which I am applying to.
