Short-Term and Long-Term Goals
For this assignment, conduct a needs assessment for your selected mentee. Before establishing goals, converse with your mentee to complete a needs assessment that identifies potential short and long-term goals. Spend two hours evaluating areas in the mentee’s daily life that would benefit from coaching or mentoring techniques.
my little brother is my mentee. he is 13 years old and trying to balance basketball and school with all the things going on with Covid. he wants to be a pro baller but wants a back up plan as well.
This can be done in-person or through an interview process. You are not required to use a template or graphic organizer to document the information, but a template might help to evaluate your mentee’s needs and complete the goals portion of this assignment. Once you have completed the needs assessment, you will determine the short-term and long-term goals to be integrated into your implementation plan.
Use the provided template, “Short-Term and Long-Term Goals” to develop short-term and long-term goals. You must develop these goals with your mentee. You can do this over the phone or in-person. It is important to identify areas that could use coaching or mentoring techniques in order to complete your implementation plan. Short-term goals must reflect the next 6 months and long-term goals must reflect 6 months to 2 years.
