The Nursing Theory Research paper examines one selected nursing theory and its relevance to nursing practice, research and the profession of nursing.

1. Be sure to use and provide reference citations in APA format. Resources should be no older than 5 years.

2. Your paper should be an 8-10 page typed paper double-spaced with Headings, and 12-font Times New Roman font. You should have a title page and reference page. The page limit DOES NOT include the title and reference pages. NO ABSTRACT IS NEEDED.

3. The student will write about a nursing theorist, explain the theory including the 4 parts of the metaparadigm, describe how the theory is used in practice, and discuss research that has been guided by the theory. Be sure that you use a variety of original references, including books by the theorist, journal articles, research articles, and/or interviews and websites. Make sure journal article are no older than 5 years.

4, Format shall include the following:

a. Introduction

b. Description of the nursing theorist and the nursing theory. Include key concepts of the theory, an explanation of how they are linked, and a graphic representation of the theory.

c. Include explanation and correlation to the metaparadigms of person, environment, health, and nursing used by the theorist.

d. Analysis of how the theory has been applied to nursing practice using peer reviewed journals.

e. Discussion of key research that has been guided by the theory.

f. Summary and conclusion
