Labor Economic’s

A 4-5 page research paper relating a labor economic issue is required. Students will be advised that this paper should be considered a report given to their supervisor in an employment situation. Particular attention will be given to insuring the paper is properly formatted according to the APA style and cited works are properly annotated.

Because of the length, it will not be necessary to provide an abstract of the content of the research paper. Therefore, the paper will consist of the following sections:

1. Title Page

2. Content–4-5 pages in length which discusses the ideas in the research paper. The BODY OF THE PAPER NEEDS TO BE BETWEEN FOUR (4) AND FIVE (5) PAGES and THE TITLE PAGE AND REFERENCE PAGE DO NOT COUNT.

A. AN EXCELLENT SOURCE FOR “APA” REFERENCE IS <PURDUE OWL.COM>.

B.. Because of the length of this paper, it is expected that there will be no more than 3 direct quotations used in the text. These should be properly identified as direct quotes and properly cited.

C. While Wikopedia is acceptable as a reference, the use should be limited to definition of concepts ONLY. It should not be used extensively when discussing the ideas embedded in the text of the paper.

3. Works Cited Page–This will properly list all the reference material you have incorporated into your research paper and will for the basis for the “in-text” citations in the body of the paper.

4. Number of sources–It is expected that students will have at least 5 sources for their information and they must be no older than 5 years. Sources from Academic Journals would be preferred since these articles have been subjected to peer review before being included in the journal.
