Genetics Presentation

Genetics Project: Each student pair will prepare a 15-minute ZOOM POWERPOINT presentation on a genetics discovery that changed the field of genetics (examples: transgenic organisms, GMOs, gene therapy, cloning, gene editing, RNAi, genetic testing, genome-based medicine) that should address the following information: 1) 1.what is this specific genetic discovery (describe it), 2.when, who and how was it discovered, 3.what is the mechanism (how does it work), 4.what is it being used for currently in genetics research (include some specific examples from CURRENT research (i.e. last 10 years), 5.what are some issues and/or ethical dilemmas with its use and development, 6.miscellaneous facts. You must include a works cited slide in APA format in your presentation and cite any and all figures (especially data) directly in your presentation using APA. Presentations will be done via ZOOM the last week of class.
Students will research their topic using a minimum of five (5) current peer-reviewed sources (journal articles or textbooks and at least 3 sources MUST be primary scientific journal articles). No website will be allowed unless it is in addition to the other sources (must be a reputable website!).
