Brainstorm

For this writing entry you will start brainstorming what you want to write about for your term paper. Previously we explored how the four key words of our studies relate to each other. Now I want you to explore how these values and ideas can be witnessed in the real world.

This brainstorming will be more extensive and involve some research as well. In order to find some information on what is going on across the world, periodicals such as the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, BBC, & so on provide us with credible and trustworthy news. As an example, you can use DVC’s Library to access the New York Times, here’s some information on that.

While I’m not requiring you to use one specific news outlet, I would advise against some of the more politically charged sources. News outlets like CNN, Breitbart, New York Post, or The Guardian often have an ideologically charged way of reporting. If you are unsure of a publication’s trustworthiness, you can use the Media Bias/Fact Check website

to help you make a good judgement call.

So, here is what I’m looking for:

-200 word brainstorm that addresses at least one current event
-A source from a credible news agency that reported on that event
-Include how this current event relates to at least two of our key words – Love, Freedom, Justice, & Equality/Equity
