Harley Davidson is looking for a new ERP system.

What is an ERP system? These are some of the questions you will answer in your case analysis.

I. Introduction: Set the story. What is going on with HD? This is NOT a summary of the case. What is going on with technology in the world at this time. What is culture so important at HD?

III. What to consider when choosing a new IT provider? use MIS literature and other sources

IV. HD Provider Options

i. Provider 1: someone make a convincing argument why Provider 1 should be the choice. Use quotes from the case and info from the appendix (as well as info from part II and part III of this paper.

ii. Provider 2: Same

iii. Provider 3: Same

V. Consensus choice. You must come up with a final unanimous choice and defend it. Everyone may not totally agree (and if you did a good job in part IV this should be the case) but you make a group decision and defend it.

NOTE: There is NO right answer. It’s about what you defend. A defense could be made for each. I personally know which provider they picked…but that’s not the purpose of this assignment. Only consider the time frame covered in the case. Do NOT look ahead. Make your decision based on the info in the case. However, you can use more current literature to define ERP and how to pick a provider.

Hint: Pay close attention to quotations made by different people at HD. Use the Appendix in the case.
