Essay Prompt: Take a stand on any issue of your choice. Your topic could be from the list in our textbook, or it could be something that you came up with on your own. Please don’t forget that certain topics are off-limits (death penalty, animal experimentation, abortion, and gun control).

Essay Requirements:

This essay must be a minimum of six pages in length. If you fail to meet this requirement, your letter grade on this essay will be lowered by two letter grades.
Your body paragraphs must have a minimum three sets of point, example, and commentary, but they can have more if you want. Your examples should come from credible and current sources. They should either be direct quotations or paraphrasing of other individuals’ ideas. Either way, you still have to cite them in your essay and your Works Cited page.

3.You must address, identify with, and refute the opposition in this essay. This section can be anywhere from 1-3 pages in length.

Make sure you use transitions at the end of your body paragraphs.
Your conclusion should adequately “wrap up” your argument.
You must have a minimum of six outside sources listed on your Works Cited page. All six outside sources must be published within the last five years. You may use older sources, but they will not count as part of the mandatory six.
