Four double spaced pages; Times New Roman 12 font. Papers that exceed four pages will receive an automatic 10-point reduction. (Ideally papers are between 3 and ½ pages and 4 pages (again 4-page max).
A fifth page: bibliography of sources (to reveal your research into the historical background and biographical data about author). You must have a bibliography. You may use any academic reference style for the bibliography (e.g., MLA, Chicago/Turabian, APA, etc.). I suggest you use the style relevant to your major.
Sections: information on author, social/historical context of documents (half page to three quarters of a page); analysis/interpretation of document(s) and (if relevant) their relation to each other (two and a half pages); relevance of document for today (half page to three quarters of a page).
Use in-text footnotes per the following example: John Doe was the famous theologian who said, “My church has never heard of any of the names that I am studying in this class” (Jones, 25).

Remember, you are not just giving personal opinion of these documents. You are reading them historically and for what they meant to the Christian Heritage (good; bad).
