Critical evaluation of a communication process in the workplace

Remember to refer to the Miniature Guide, particularly pages 4 and 5 (titled: A Checklist for Reasoning). ………………. For this paper i would like to mention about the “HANDOVER” during the shift. I am a Nurse working in aged care. So importance of handover in the work place. A starting point could be to determine what the purpose of handover is in your workplace, and determine if that purpose is being adequately achieved. If the purpose isn’t being fully achieved, then look at what parts of the existing handover process can be improved. For example, if currently people struggle to remain focused when they are being given a handover, you could look at whether the deliverer of the handover could do more to establish rapport with colleagues, whether they could ensure they used an appropriate tone of voice, tried to make eye contact with colleagues etc. Then use evidence to show how important these things are & how they can be incorporated into the communication process to help to make handover more effective
