VRIO and sustainable competitive advantage

Professors Instruction:

Take a second look at Tesla or a core market competitor identified by you or one of your classmates in the previous discussion board topic. In your view, what are the most important sources of sustainable competitive advantage? Remember that this includes specific company resources (tangible and intangible) or capabilities and competencies (things it does well), but not particular product attributes. Link to an article or video to inform your view on this aspect of the company, and summarize it in your comments. If you find interesting supporting graphics/charts, include these as well. You might also comment on the company’s business model (how the various business components support/reinforce each other). Evaluate resources/capabilities/competencies using the VRIO framework found in chapter 4 of your text, reply/respond to your classmates, and come to class ready to discuss!
