Evaluation then is something we all do on a daily basis in going about our everyday lives. This is a fairly broad term and so in the context of social sciences has been described as a family of research methods that involves the ‘systematic application of social research procedures in assessing the conceptualization and design, implementation, and utility of social intervention programs. In other words, evaluation research involves the use of social research methodologies to judge and improve the planning, monitoring, effectiveness and efficiency of health, education, welfare and other human service programs.When developing an effective evaluation plan, understanding the what, how, and why of your organization must first exist. The “what” will reflect the description of your organization and its programs that are existing or are being proposed for future implementation as well as identifying the projected purpose and outcomes of the resource (Glasby & Dickerson, 2014)

Being able to evaluate gives you an idea of which areas help is needed, which areas are the strong ones, and what could and should be done to fix any area or make an area better. Future decisions can be decided while evaluating the organization or community needs. This should be ongoing to make sure each area and development is being taken care of. Results from your evaluations and help determine things from all aspects of what’s going on. It can also be compared with past and future evaluations to be compared and what needs to change, stay the same or just need improvement.
