Prepare to discuss/analyze Eastern Pantheistic Monism and how your song shows a partial rejection by the young generation of what you understand to have been the prevalent middle-class values of the 1960s.

After much researching and thought, the song I have chosen to use is by The Beatles, “All you need is Love.” The Beatles were asked to come up with a song, or message that contained meaning and could be understood by all. The song is supposed to bring all people of the world together. I am not going to say it was an easy pick either, because Bob Dylan came to mind as well. He too believe it or not, had some spiritual, or meaningful songs something like this one.

Here are the lyrics:

“Love, love, love

Love, love, love

Love, love, love There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done

Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung

Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game

It’s easy.

Nothing you can make that can’t be made

No one you can save that can’t be saved

Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time

It’s easy

All you need is love

All you need is love

All you need is love, Love is all you need

There’s nothing you can’t know that isn’t known

Nothing you can see that isn’t shown

There’s nowhere you can be that isn’t where

You are meant to be

All you need is love

All you need is love

All you need is love

Love is all you need

All you need is love

It’s easy.”

By reasearching this song, I have found there to be a number of expectations that show false consciousness as well as enlightened responses. It’s also saying that the corrective consciousness is a sort of a Buddhist or Pantheist one. Love is simply a facet of this consciousness. The incoherencies here have each running right through the sixties counter culture, and are visibly seen in the lyrics. This song also shows a common association between self-realization and pantheistic self-surrender that is untenable.

and the other ,

I grew up in the 60’s and by early 1970’s was in the army. I listened to a lot of this music and had friends that had started meditation and following some of the gurus. The Beatles were one of the groups I listened to the Let it be album was one I listened to a lot. I chose the song Across the Universe

Words are flowing out

Like endless rain into a paper cup

They slither while they pass

They slip away across the universe

Pools of sorrow, waves of joy

Are drifting through my opened mind

Possessing and caressing me

Jai Guru Deva, Om

Nothing’s gonna change my world

Nothing’s gonna change my world

Nothing’s gonna change my world

Nothing’s gonna change my world

images of broken light

Which dance before me like a million eyes

They call me on and on across the universe

Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box

They tumble blindly as they make their way across the universeJai Guru Deva, Om

Nothing’s gonna change my world

Nothing’s gonna change my world

Nothing’s gonna change my world

Nothing’s gonna change my world

Sounds of laughter, shades of life

Are ringing through my open ears

Inciting and inviting me

Limitless, undying love

Which shines around me like a million suns

It calls me on and on across the universe

Jai Guru Deva, Om

Nothing’s gonna change my world

Nothing’s gonna change my world

Nothing’s gonna change my world

Nothing’s gonna change my worldJai Guru Deva

Jai Guru Deva

Jai Guru Deva

Jai Guru Deva

Jai Guru Deva

Jai Guru Deva

Given the mantra it is pretty evident that this is eastern religion. To free yourself from the bonds of earthly life to absorb a higher consciousness and learn vast secret knowledge is a false sense of security the only knowledge of a higher being is thru Jesus.

I’m needing assistance with a 200 word response to both of these.
