Philospophy assignment
These were my 3 journal questions.
1. What does it mean to be reasonable? Is reason in conflict with feelings and emotions? Why or why not?
2.What is an argument? Explain the various elements to an argument.
3, Does science give us certainty? Why or why not? What role does reason play in scientific inquiry?
My Paper 1 is
(Select a topic (or topics) discussed in your journal (units 1-3), and explain the argument(s) presented therein. Once you have clearly explicated the argument(s) then you need to develop an argument in response to show its strengths and weaknesses.) The essay can be written in either MLA or APA format. Your essay should be typed, double-spaced on
standard-sized paper (8.5″ x 11″) with 1″ margins on all sides, and including page numbers. You should
use a clear font that is highly readable. A title page is not necessary.

genuine insight. This is a solid piece of work, but it lacks thoroughness.
C. This is an essay that has possibilities, but it fails to bring those possibilities to fruition; the
reader has a vague sense of where it is heading, or at least wants to head, but it is out of control:
the syntax breaks down with disappointing regularity, there are conceptual inconsistencies (“x” is
said on p. 1, but then the very opposite, “not-x”, is affirmed on p. 2), and the mechanics tend to
be sloppy and hard to follow.
D. This is an essay that shows every sign of having been thrown together at the last minute;

over the map, and one searches in v
