Discrepancy mode

Prompt: When using a severe discrepancy model of identification (see page 89), the team may not identify a child as having an SLD if the discrepancy between ability and achievement is primarily the result of environmental, cultural, or economic disadvantage (U.S. Department of Education, 1999, p. 12457).
