Write a 1200-1500 word essay (about 4-5 pages, double spaced) in which you argue an interpretation of The Man with Guitar, by Pablo Picasso

You will have to argue your interpretation by analyzing the painting, offering the reader a close look at different elements, pointing out what the painting “says.” The quality of your interpretation will depend upon how well you analyze the painting itself to develop your interpretation. Back up your interpretation by using elements found in the painting to support each point you make in each paragraph.

ESSAY GRADING CRITERIA:

CLEAR, COGENT ARGUMENT: Convincing argument with clearly stated thesis;

CLEAR, COGENT ANALYSIS: Quality of your interpretation, well-supported ideas, well-developed paragraphs; how well you make use of elements in the painting;

SOLID WRITTEN EXECUTION: Well-written sentences, clear communication of ideas, relatively error-free prose.

FORMAT REQUIREMENTS:

Format: MLA page format, Times New Roman Font, 12 point font, double spaced.

Length: 1200-1500 words (between 4-5 pages,).
