The natural environment is a vital factor for human health, such as sustaining life by providing food and resources for humans such as plants and herbs that work as a medicine. However, the natural environment has a direct correlating effect on human health, such as causing cancer like asbestos a naturally occurring mineral that is carcinogenic to humans, asthma by volcano eruption ash or pollens causing allergies and asthma attack, and other illness.

Deforestation is the permanent removal of trees by human activity which displaces animals and causes detrimental health issues to animals. For example, if the forest is gone, then there is no food for the animals to hunt and eat, there is no shelter to protect them from temperature fluctuation, hiding from predators, and destruction of breeding habitat (world wildlife, 2020; Karjalainen et al., 2009).

Deforestation also affects human health, for instance, because there are no trees, when it rains there is nothing to prevent the sediments from running off, therefore this causes flooding of nearby cities, villages and etc. This flooding can ruin crops, kill civilians, and causes diseases, such as mosquito-borne diseases and water pollutant diseases caused by contamination of water due to flooding (world wildlife, 2020; Karjalainen et al., 2009).

Deforestation can also cause issues to ecosystem health, for instance, removal of trees and contact flooding causes soil erosion, which results in the land becoming less fertile, therefore crops cannot grow which leads to starvation of a city or village (world wildlife, 2020; Karjalainen et al., 2009).
