Recommended strategies include progressive tax systems to redistribute wealth, raising the minimum wage to ensure fair compensation for workers, providing quality social services like healthcare and affordable housing, promoting fair trade practices for global economic equality, enacting policies for equal access to education, healthcare, housing, and employment opportunities for marginalized racial groups, promoting pay equity, affordable childcare, and parental leave for gender equality, and providing equitable funding for schools and implementing effective educational policies to address educational disparities.

Social-Change Organizations

Social-change organizations play a crucial role in easing or eliminating social inequality. They strive to challenge unjust systems, advocate for marginalized communities, and promote progressive change (Varghese et al., 2019). Notable examples include the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which fights for civil rights and liberties through legal advocacy and public education campaigns; Oxfam International, which focuses on reducing poverty and inequality globally by advocating for economic justice and fair distribution of resources; and Black Lives Matter (BLM), a grassroots movement combating racial inequality and police brutality through campaigns for criminal justice reform, educational equity, and economic opportunities for Black communities.

Sociological Theory: Conflict Theory

Conflict theory, a sociological perspective, offers insights into the roots of social inequality. According to this theory, society is characterized by power struggles between different social groups. Those in power aim to maintain their dominance and exploit others, resulting in social inequality (Hayes, 2022).
